Frequently asked questions
What is lorem ipsum?
Lorem ipsum is placeholder text used in design and publishing to show how a layout looks with realistic-looking words before the real text is ready. It is based on Latin passages but is meant to be meaningless.
How do I make exactly 100 words of lorem ipsum?
Choose Words, type 100 and the tool produces exactly that many words.
Can I get HTML paragraphs?
Yes. Tick “Wrap in <p> tags” and each paragraph comes wrapped in <p> and </p>, ready to paste into a page.
Is the text different each time?
Yes. Every click of “New text” makes a new random arrangement of the words, except the classic opening sentence if you ask for it.
Is it free to use anywhere?
Yes — it is made for you on the spot, so use it however you like.
