Frequently asked questions

How do I convert WebP to JPG?

Drop the .webp file, choose JPG and click Convert. It works on your device and takes a moment, even for many files.

What happens to transparent areas?

PNG and WebP can be see-through, JPG can't, so transparent areas become white when you convert to JPG. Converting to PNG or WebP keeps the transparency.

Which format should I choose?

JPG is accepted everywhere and is best for photos. PNG keeps every pixel and transparency but is bigger. WebP is smaller than both and ideal for websites, though a few older programs can't open it.

Will I lose quality?

PNG output loses nothing. JPG and WebP are lossy, so each save discards a little detail; at 90% quality the difference is hard to see. Use the slider to trade size against quality.

Does it work with HEIC photos from an iPhone?

Not yet — browsers can't read HEIC. Choose “Most Compatible” in your iPhone's camera settings, or share the photo as a JPG, then convert it here. Animated GIFs become a single still picture.
