Frequently asked questions
How do I resize an image to an exact size?
Enter the width and height, choose the unit, and pick “Crop to fill” so the picture fills that size exactly. “Keep proportions” fits the picture inside the size without cutting anything off, and “Stretch” fills it exactly but distorts the picture.
How do I make a passport-size photo?
Tap “Passport 35 × 45 mm”. At 300 dpi that is 413 × 531 pixels, and the middle of your photo is kept. Check your own country's rules for the background, head size and file size, which this tool doesn't change.
Can I enter centimetres or inches?
Yes. Choose the unit and a dpi (300 is usual for print); the tool works out the pixel size and shows it. The saved file holds pixels rather than a print size, so a print shop uses the pixel count.
Will resizing keep the picture sharp?
Making a picture smaller keeps it sharp. Making it bigger can't add detail, so it looks softer — tick “Never make a picture bigger” to leave small pictures alone.
Does it work with phone photos and many files?
Yes. Phone photos are turned the right way up first, and you can resize up to 50 pictures (30 MB each) in one go. Hidden data such as GPS location is dropped. Nothing is uploaded.
