Frequently asked questions
How do I split people into random teams?
Paste the names, choose how many teams you want (or how many players per team) and click Make teams. Teams are kept as even as possible — their sizes never differ by more than one.
How does the group draw work?
Put your teams into pots, with a blank line between pots. Each pot is drawn in turn and every group gets one team from a pot before any group gets a second — the same idea as a real tournament draw. Tick “Reveal one team at a time” to draw them live.
Is it really random and fair?
Yes. It uses your browser's secure random number generator and an unbiased shuffle, so every order is equally likely.
Can I pick a winner or put names in a random order?
Yes. Choose “Pick or shuffle”, set how many names to pick (no repeats), or put the whole list in a random order — for a raffle, a batting order or who goes first.
Are my names saved or sent anywhere?
No. Everything happens in your browser and nothing is stored. Up to 500 names are supported.
