Frequently asked questions

Is this invoice generator really free?

Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many documents you make.

Is my customer's information uploaded or stored?

No. The document is built in your browser and never sent to a server. The only thing that can be saved is your own business details, in this browser on your device, and only if you tick “Remember my business details”.

What is the difference between an invoice, a receipt and a quote?

An invoice asks for payment and shows a due date. A receipt confirms that payment has been received. A quote (or estimate) gives a price before the work is agreed. Choose the type at the top and the wording and totals change to suit.

How are the totals and tax worked out?

Each line is quantity × price, rounded to the smallest unit of the currency. The discount comes off the subtotal, then tax is added to what is left, so the printed lines always add up. Enter the tax name and rate that apply to you (VAT, GST, sales tax…).

Can I use my own currency, logo and colours?

Yes. Choose from 23 currencies including USD, EUR, GBP, INR and PKR, add your logo (it stays on your device), and pick a colour. Paper can be A4 or US Letter.

Can I select or copy the text in the PDF?

No. The PDF is a sharp picture of each page — that is how every currency symbol and language prints correctly. Keep your details in your own records if you need searchable text.

Will this meet the invoicing rules in my country?

It makes a clear, complete-looking document, but rules differ by country — some require a tax number, a sequential number or specific wording. Check what applies to you and include those details in your address block or notes.
